Runners Endorse Foam Rollers
Runners often use foam rollers ro promote healing and an article in Running Times Magazine does a great job detailing how runners can promote muscle recovery using a foam roller. The article, written by Clint Verran, a 10th place finisher in the 2006 Boston Marathon, details foam rolling exercises including the IT Band Roll, the Hamstring/Quad Roll and the Middle Back Roll. Verran sums up foam rolling this way: "Bottom line: The foam roller is an inexpensive, yet highly effective way to treat and prevent the most common injuries seen in runners. Foam rollers can be purchased at sporting goods stores or ordered online for less than $20. A few minutes a day can help keep you on the road for years to come."
